From a single safari lodge partnership to a full-service expedition curator — the milestones that shaped Ranfurlieam.
The founding team organised a private 10-day safari for a family of six across Kruger and the Cape Winelands. The trip ran flawlessly, and word-of-mouth from that single booking led to three more corporate groups within six months. That year we realised the demand for high-touch, custom itineraries in South Africa was underserved.
After repeated requests from HR directors and team leads, we formalised a dedicated corporate team-building arm. The first client was a Johannesburg-based tech firm that wanted a leadership retreat in the Drakensberg. The programme combined guided hikes, problem-solving challenges, and evening debriefs. The retention rate for that team improved measurably over the following year.
We formalised partnerships with three community-run lodges in KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. Every itinerary now includes a contribution to local conservation or education projects. That year we also published our first responsible travel guide, which was downloaded over 2,000 times and led to a speaking invitation at the Africa Travel Week.
We launched a digital client portal that lets travellers preview daily routes, accommodation options, and activity choices before finalising their trip. The tool reduced planning time by 40% and improved client satisfaction scores. By year-end, we had coordinated over 120 custom journeys, from solo travellers to groups of 40.
Who we are
Ranfurlieam was built for travellers who seek more than a holiday — who want the wild, the quiet, and the extraordinary, without compromising on comfort or conscience.
We work with discerning individuals, corporate teams, and small groups who value expert coordination, responsible practices, and itineraries that feel personal rather than packaged. Our tone is warm, direct, and grounded — we speak of landscapes, logistics, and real experiences, not abstractions.
Our clients are curious, busy, and intentional. They expect seamless logistics, genuine local connection, and a journey that respects both the land and its people.
Every itinerary we design supports community-run lodges, conservation initiatives, and fair-wage guides. Luxury and ethics are not opposites — they are the foundation of a memorable trip.
From private safari camps in Kruger to corporate expeditions in the Cederberg, we handle every detail — so you can focus on the experience, not the planning.
